I, like many of my colleagues in the beauty business, are struggling due to the pandemic.
Many have opted to open online stores and are offering delivery. I have a unique option of offering sales online through affiliate links.
What this means is that most things you purchase from my website I will get a commission from. Even if you just click on a link that takes you to Amazon and you purchase nothing I will get a commission on anything you purchase from Amazon that day. Neat hey?
If you click on the Amazon advertisement below before you make your Amazon purchases, I would greatly appreciate it.
There are a variety of Youtube videos to give you some home waxing pointers.

Why I know so much about ingrown hair…
I have been doing this for over 10 years and I pride myself on my continuing education efforts and my general interest in everything waxing! I have always been dedicated to finding the latest and greatest INGROWN HAIR TREATMENTS THAT WORK.
6 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter I had insomnia. During those endless sleepless nights, I scoured the internet and read all the articles on ingrown hairs that I could find. And what did I find? Soooo much information.
So after I sorted all the reputable dermatology reports and researched all the ingredients I came up with a list of the most reputable and worthy ingrown hair treatments.
Ingrown hairs are caused because of a lack of natural exfoliation in the skin. When you pull the hair out by the root a new thinner hair tries to pop out. The cells in the follicle will build up if your skin does not exfoliate itself. That creates a barrier so the new skin curls up instead of being able to poke through.
Prevent ingrown hairs
To prevent ingrown hairs from starting before waxing or shaving follow these rules:
⇒Don’t wear tight panties, pants or leggings for the next few days.
⇒Keep hands away from touching freshly waxed skin, as this can encourage irritation or small pimples.
⇒Opt for a shower. Don’t take a hot bath or hot tub for the rest of the day.
⇒No tanning beds, saunas or steam rooms for the next two days.
⇒Short-term abstinence. Sexual activity should be avoided for at least 24 – 48 hours.
Treat ingrown hairs
To treat ingrown hairs, try the easiest way to get rid of them. Exfoliation with a scrub mitt and a little body wash. Do this every other day!
I give every new client an exfoliation mitt to use with their own body wash. I also highly recommend The Borodin Body exfoliation kit.
Soft Silicone Body Brush-This silicone body brush is designed to replace the traditional sponge/ brush. Made of 100% natural, BPA-free, and LFGB standard silicone material, easy clean, quick dry and no residue. Canadian Link
When Exfoliation is not enough
If that doesn’t work then you need to move on to adding a serum to your daily routine. This is a list of my favourite serums!
Choose the one that works best with your body or lifestyle choices. They all are formulated for ingrown hairs, razor burns, bumps, and skin irritation resulting from shaving, waxing, electrolysis and laser hair removal.
The serums I recommend:
High Time Bump Stopper– This is my newest favourite and it’s pretty inexpensive and doesn’t sting. It’s perfect for everyone. I also sell it directly in my shop. Canadian Link
TendSkin– This one has been around for ages and is sold in most spas and salons. The only thing I don’t like about it is that is stings a bit. Canadian Link
Pfb is another great salon and spa brand. It’s got a little roll on top. Canadian Link
I like Kerah Lane because it smells good and has natural-based ingredients, including Witch Hazel,Aloe Vera, Lavender, Lemon, Essential Oils, plus skin-enhancing vitamins and minerals. Canadian Link
Other methods of hair removal
Now, If after trying those you get no relief you should try another hair removal method.
•Shaving/Trimming
You can trim the hair really short using a battery operated mini shaver.
This is a method that has been around for years. Epilators pluck all the hair out. (It’s not as scary as it seems)
Braun Epilator for Women– This is the best selling epilator on Amazon. I have a number of clients that have purchased it and love it. If you click the link and scroll down on the page there are videos about epilating. Canadian Link
•Hair removal creams
Nair- While I’m not a big fan of this type of hair removal, it has come a long way in the years that it has been on the market. If you are going to try it, this one is the best selling. Canadian Link
•Home Lazer hair removal
Home laser hair removal has become very popular. I highly recommend the Silk’n company. Canadian Link
Ingrown hairs can be tricky. Often it can take a lot of patience and testing what method works for you. I hope you can find relief by trying a few of the methods I have suggested.

Brazilian wax etiquette
I get a lot of questions about Brazilian wax etiquette. If you have never been for waxing services or don’t know anyone who has you might have some questions about how you should prepare.
Here are a few Brazilian wax etiquette tips:
•Make sure you know the address you are going to. Many people neglect to check this and then 20 minutes before their appointment realizes that they aren’t going where they thought they were and arrive late.
•Read over the information on the website about some specifics that some waxers request you show up 10 minutes before your appointment.
•Read over the spa or salon policies’. Familiarize yourself with the late policy and cancellation policy.
•When booking your appointment, they may ask you to leave a credit card number or a deposit. This is now common practice to ensure that clients will show up to their appointments.
•Many places now offer their consultation forms online for you to fill out ahead of time. Do this so you can make sure you know about any contraindications or reactions you might have to waxing.
•Usually, before you get a wax most estheticians require 3-4 weeks hair growth. Some may also ask you to trim or not to trim. This information should be on the esthetician’s website.
•It’s best if you exfoliate the areas every other day with a scrub mitt (←we recommend this one)and body wash to make sure all the hairs have come to the surface and to release any ingrown hairs. Moisturize with an unscented lotion every day. Clean, healthy skin gets the best results.
•If you can, shower right before your wax but sometimes you can’t always do that. Make sure you are clean (front and back) using wet paper towels, baby wipes or feminine wipes.
We recomend this one- Check price
•Most estheticians or waxers will still wax you if you have your period. But double-check with them first. You can wear a diva cup or fresh tampon and tuck the string as far in as possible. Make sure you mention to the waxer you have your period.
•If you have numbing cream, you can apply this usually 1 hour before. Check the manufacturer’s instructions about the requirements. Again, let the waxer know that you have numbing cream on.
•If you tend to “run a little warm” wear loose-fitting clothing and even a tank top. The warmer your body temperature the harder it is for the wax to set up properly.
•When you get into the room, the waxer will ask you to undress. Most prefer if you don’t wear any panties at all (they will see your bits, anyway right?) Ask your esthetician where she would like you to place your clothes. (Don’t leave them on the floor or in front of the bed for them to pick up). Also, avoid putting on the panties you came in. If you can go commando or put a fresh pair on.
After your wax
When your wax service is completed, you can get dressed and talk about aftercare requirements.
Your esthetician will guide you through the wax. It will be a lot easier and less painful than you think. Your esthetician sees more naked women than most doctors so try to relax and not worry about that part.
As a professional waxer for over 12 years, I have seen every type of lady bit (and man bits). Nothing surprises me. If I seem to be studying the area, it’s because I want to look closely at hair growth patterns, so you get the best wax results.
If you have questions, this is a good time to ask them but contact the esthetician later on.
Waxing is a service and if you think your waxer did a good job, then let her know with a gratuity. The average now is 10-20%. Another thing people do know about is that most small businesses have to pay credit card fees when a client uses their credit card. If possible, consider bringing cash to help keep the salon’s costs low.
Going into a waxing salon can be a nerve-racking experience. Hopefully, this will give you more confidence to get your first wax!

This is an article about my general Brazilian wax procedure. Although each Waxpert has his or her own technique, you will find that it is pretty similar to this.
This is where you are going. Go straight up to the stairs at the front of the house and if you look to the right there is a white door. (The city bylaws prevent me from having a sign)
Please arrive on time and no more than 10 minutes early. Use the washroom before you arrive at your appointment. Female genitalia only.
Please don’t bring a friend! It makes it incredibly awkward for me to move around the room and try not to bump into them.
You will be greeted at the door and welcomed into the room. Be prepared to answer a few questions as I take notes on the computer an to fill out a consultation form. You will be asked to remove your pants and underwear and asked to lay down on the bed and to place a towel over top. I do not leave the room.
You will be directed to move into various positions in order for me to reach all the hair. By this point, I will hopefully have reassured you that the pain won’t be as bad and will likely explain to you that you are my 4th or 5 th Brazilian that day.
This is a great time to ask me questions. Also, just so you know your labia is normal looking.
I have never been shocked by anyone’s genitalia and I have seen 1000’s. Do you have a ring down there? I can work around it. Are you 9 months pregnant? No prob. If your water breaks on the table you pay double, also if you go into labour please ask your partner to call or email and let me know you won’t make it. Think you will chicken out after the first couple of strips? That’s fine. No one ever does. Check out what you need to know about pre and post prep in this article “Pre/Postcare/FAQ”
The wax I use is very different than what most Estheticians use. It’s a higher-end wax from Europe. I use a combination of hard wax ( it is applied to the skin, shrinks around the hairs and then get pulled off) and soft wax ( it is applied to the skin and a piece of cloth is put on it and it is pulled off the skin)
You will NOT be asked to get on all 4s. Enough said.
Let’s talk about the bum. You will get your bum waxed. Everyone does. Why would you leave the hair there and wax everything else? This is included in the price.
I take cash, check or email money transfer. I also charge tax on top of my service price.
If you are satisfied with your wax and feel like I did a good job, please leave a review somewhere on the internet. Google
I have been doing this for 11 years. I specialize in Brazilian waxing and I do it all day every day. Feel free to contact me to ask me any questions. The easiest way to get a hold of me is email: taniarice@sasktel.net

The best numbing cream, spray & gel
Can you use numbing cream before waxing?
Yes, you can. Please read and follow the instructions on the product before applying numbing cream.
*Estheticians- Scroll to the bottom to get a tip on how to retail numbing creams to clients!
As a professional waxer with over 11 years of experience, I am often asked, what the best numbing cream for waxing is?
There are a variety of numbing creams, sprays, and gels out there, so how did I compare all of them?
Price: There was a wide variety of prices from $10-$200.
Effectiveness: I only chose to look at products with 4% lidocaine or higher. Anything less than that is not really gonna do anything.
Ratings: This is a hard one since the person has to use it properly in order to be effective. Also, everyone’s pain tolerance is different. And people with coarser, thicker or more hair or first time waxers will experience more pain than others.
CAUTION: READ THE LEAFLETS AND BOXES ATTACHED TO THE PRODUCTS! Lidocaine cream is a topical anesthetic used for numbing the skin in certain procedures, such as skin biopsies, hot waxing, laser hair removal, and mammograms. According to the “Journal of Drugs In Dermatology,” when used in small amounts and low concentrations over small areas of the body, it is considered safe. It can cause dangerous side effects when used in higher concentrations over larger body areas. After application, lidocaine cream should be washed off the hands completely. It should never be applied to broken skin. Lidocaine can also affect your breathing, cause seizures and cause an irregular heartbeat. So always check with your doctor before using creams with lidocaine. From https://www.livestrong.com/article/175440-dangers-of-lidocaine-cream/
So take it all with a grain of salt. I’m not a scientist I am simply laying out the Numbing creams, sprays, and gels with 4% or higher of lidocaine in them. It’s up to you to choose the best one for you.
*Before you use a numbing cream check with your service provider to make sure it’s ok
(some numbing creams are not available in all countries)
I had my reservations at first. It was a bit more expensive than some of the others I have tried but this one is by far my favourite. I was also really impressed that the company reached out to me and sent me a sample.
WHAT MAKES IT BETTER? Non-invasive and Hypoallergenic Completely reversible and does not produce any residual effect on the nerve fibre Rapid onset of action (10-15 mins) Duration of action lasts up to 4 hours May be reapplied to prolong the numbness as necessary Does not cause irritation of tissues and nerves Contains Vitamin E for faster skin recovery Applicable to all skin type
*Tip for estheticians- Numbing creams make an excellent retail product. You can also use it as an add on and charge for an application right before the wax. I usually apply it to the bikini area right when the client comes in (provided they have no contraindications). Then I proceed with all other services first and finish with that area last.

*Special tip for estheticians -Scroll all the way down!*
Let’s talk about fem Hygiene.
We were always taught as girls that you shouldn’t use any perfumes or scents in “that area”. And that there is no need to use special washes or products.
It was true.
But it doesn’t really apply to today’s products. We have science-backed by gynecologists who all agree that it’s actually ok to use these types of products as long as they are pH balanced without harsh detergents called sulphates or glycerin. So which products out there are actually good for you to use? Anything from SWEETSPOT FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS is clinically proven to be safe and gentle.
About SweetSpot Labs
SweetSpot Labs was started 12 years ago in the top spas in North America where estheticians discovered a need for a gentle, natural, feminine hygiene product for pre and post waxing.
Why SweetSpot feminine hygiene products are a must-have in your bag
From chemistry class to gym class, yoga to an early morning board meeting, life seems to be getting busier and busier. Every woman needs to experience the luxurious freshness and unmistakable convenience of SweetSpot and they made it their mission to simplify a woman’s cleansing rituals by creating the leading, natural feminine skincare products on the market today.
You can use these products as part of an everyday routine or keep them in your bag for those on the go times that you just need to freshen up a little bit.
Women who love camping, going to the gym, fly a lot or work long hours will love these wipes!
What makes SweetSpot Labs products safe
SweetSpot products are formulated to be pH balanced without harsh detergents called sulphates or glycerin — a sugar-based ingredient (yikes!).
SweetSpot washes use gentle coconut-based cleansers. They use a combination of natural oils including apricot and sunflower to give a safer cleansing experience, naturally. The feminine wipes are ultra-soft, made without alcohol and are clinically proven to be safe and gentle. As if that weren’t enough, SweetSpot Labs conducts gynecologist-run clinical studies to test our products for safety — everywhere!
At Brazilian Wax Regina, I am very pleased to offer SweetSpot Labs products
I hope you enjoy these products as much as I do!
*Tip for other estheticians*
I buy the 50 pack and give one to clients to use before their wax! I also use them as part of my client’s holiday gifts and give away baskets.
Exfoliate, (scrub the area with a scrub brush, face cloth or body scrub) cleanse and moisturize every single day with a pumice glove. Use only liquid soap!
Make sure you are extra clean front & back right before your appointment. We recommend SweetSpot wipes
Take an Ibuprofen or Tylenol 30- 45 minutes before your appointment if you’re worried about pain.
Things that will cause you to be more sensitive at your wax: tiredness, close to your cycle, pregnancy, hangovers and too much caffeine. Try Numbing cream!
Post-Waxing Care:
Don’t wear tight panties, pants or leggings for the next few days. Try to wear all cotton with no lace.
Keep hands away from touching freshly waxed skin, as this can encourage irritation or small pimples.
Opt for a shower and use a gentle wash on the area. We recommend SweetSpot Labs Wash Don’t take a hot bath or hot tub for the rest of the day.
No tanning beds, saunas or steam rooms for the next two days.
Short-term abstinence. Sexual activity should be avoided for at least 24 – 48 hours.
Exfoliate. Every day just like the pre-care instructions
It should go away within two hours, however, clients who have sensitive skin may notice it takes up to a day. You can use a soothing cream to help get rid of the redness.
→How long will the results last?
First-time clients will notice the regrowth typically from 2 to 3 weeks. When you start to regularly wax on a schedule, the length of time between waxes will get longer generally four to six weeks. After your fourth or fifth visit at 4-5 week regular intervals, all your hair will be in the same hair growth cycle and will be a good waxable, length at the same time. You will start to see the same effect as regular waxers after further appointments.
→How can I prevent the pain?
The least painful time to wax is 5-14 days after your period. Do not drink coffee or alcohol prior to your waxing appointment. Take an ibuprofen 2 hours prior to your appointment. Apply a numbing spray prior to your appointment.
→How can I prevent ingrown hairs?
See above in post-care!
→Will it hurt less the second time?
Yes, because the hair is growing back as a new hair, it is softer and thinner and has a smaller root bulb.
→How often should I get a Brazilian wax?
In the first 6 months, I recommend every 4 weeks. After that every 4 to 6 weeks depending on your hair growth.
→Can I be waxed when pregnant?
Yes. There are no restrictions on waxing when pregnant and we have lots of experience waxing heavily pregnant ladies who come in right up to their due date.
→Can I be waxed during my period?
Yes. We ask that you use a fresh tampon before your appointment and that you are hygienically presented. Please also mention it to your technician
→What is blood spotting?
Hairs in the Anagen (growing) stage of the hair growth cycle is all supplied by tiny blood vessels. When an Anagen hair is forcibly removed by waxing, a small amount of blood may travel up through the channel in the skin that the hair was previously in.
→Can I shave if I have to?
You can but it will cause the hair to grow thicker and your next wax will be much more painful.
→Why do you use so many different types of wax?
Different types of hair need different types of wax.
→Is sugaring better than waxing?
No, you are pulling the hairs out by the roots with each method. The difference is that most waxes or oil soluble and most sugar is water-soluble.
No. Don’t trim. Most people trim too much then the hair is too short to wax.
→Do I have to start a regular schedule for waxing?
No. To get the best results you should start a regular regime before your vacation or big day, however, it’s not necessary. It just means you won’t get a super smooth wax and might see regrowth ager a week or 2.

“What exactly is a scar”?
When you injure your skin, your body naturally repairs the damage. How your body repairs this damage depends on how deeply the injury penetrates your skin. In this article, you will learn how to get rid of Scars from ingrown hair.
If the injury damages the top layer of your skin, you’ll likely see new skin when the wound heals. To repair the damage that goes deeper than the first layer, your body makes a tissue that’s thicker than your skin. This thicker tissue often becomes a scar.
New scars have a pink to reddish colour. As a scar matures, it often turns lighter or darker than your skin.
Many of us who are plagued by ingrown hairs often see the end results for years. They can be unsightly and embarrassing. So how do you get rid of them?
Stop this:
Chances are you got the scar from picking an ingrown hair bump or scab too much.Stop doing this!!! I know its easier said than done. So start preventing ingrown before they even get to the stage where you want to pick at them!
Start with prevention.
The best way to prevent ingrown hairs is to determine whether shaving or waxing irritates the skin and hair worse. Choose the method which irritates the area the least. You may have to experiment with a few hair removal methods over time but you should eventually find one that works.
Exfoliate, cleanse and moisturize every single day with a scrub glove or exfoliation brush.
Be gentle and use a good quality soap. Lather the soap in the glove and gently scrub the area. Do this every day until the bumps subside. Apply a light moisturizer or ingrown hair serum after.
Now What?
You are probably reading this article because you already have done the damage and want to know how to get rid of Scars from ingrown hair. It won’t be easy and you may only get a slight reduction in scaring but the end results might be worth it.
Natural Scar Remedies you might find in your kitchen
•Massage olive oil over the scar. Olive oil is rich in vitamins E and K, which will help in getting your scars to fade quickly. Virgin olive oil is particularly high in antioxidants and has a higher acidity level, which helps to lighten the scars.
Rub a little bit on to the scar and massage into it for 10 minutes.
•Raw honey is a natural moisturizer. It can be effective in the treatment of wounds and stimulates tissue regeneration. It can also be used to fade scars.
Mix 2 tbsp. of raw honey with 2 tbsp. of baking soda
Massage for 3 minutes and wipe clean.
•Apply lemon juice to the scar. Lemons contain alpha-hydroxy acids(AHA) which help to remove dead skin cells, help new cells grow. It can help lighten scars.
Put 1 teaspoon of lemon juice on a cotton ball
Rub the cotton ball on the scarred area
Let it sit for about 10 minutes and then rinse it off
